John Curtin Performance Company

John Curtin Performance Company was formed in response to requests from graduates of John Curtin College of the Arts to provide opportunities to further their skills and knowledge in the arts.

Run by youth, for youth, JCPC provides these opportunities enabling young artists to continue to explore and demonstrate their passion for the arts while continuing with other career paths. The company builds on the exceptionally high standard of quality of work already set by the prestigious Gifted and Talented arts programs offered at the college.

The college supports the company by providing the use of college facilities and as a result JCPC is able to keep costs to an absolute minimum.

JCPC is an incorporated non-profit company and has been successful in gaining assistance from funding bodies for some of its projects.

"Promoting and providing opportunities in youth arts"

"Providing a vehicle for youth to gain skills in performance, dance, drama, music as well as other art forms"

"Providing opportunities for youth to explore ideas relating to themselves and translate these ideas into performance"

Primary Outreach

The college’s Primary Outreach Performance Tour is an Arts Outreach project designed to provide primary school students with a taste of the Department of Education and Training Gifted and Talented Education Arts programs.

Gifted and Talented Year 8 students present a short repertoire of Drama, Dance, Music and Music Theatre and a brief talk about Visual Arts and Artsmedia. Information about the application and selection requirements is also provided.

Community Choir Project

John Curtin College of the Arts participates in the Fremantle Community Fringe Festival through the school’s involvement with St Patrick’s Community Centre in Fremantle.

John Curtin’s Senior Chorale has joined with the St Patrick’s Starlight Hotel Choir, a non profit choir that gives homeless and disadvantaged a place to enjoy creative expression.

All donations from performances go to St Patrick’s Community Care Centre, which tirelessly feeds, shelters and nurtures the homeless 365 days a year.
