Entry to the college is through a Gifted and Talented Arts program, the Soccer Excellence Program or as a local student. By 2012, John Curtin College of the Arts will be fully selective for Arts courses.
Applications for 2010 Year 8 entry into GAT programs are now available online at det.wa.edu.au/education/gifttal/index.htm
Applications for 2009 Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 entry into GAT programs has also closed.
For further information about applying for a place in a Gifted and Talented Arts program at the college and the Selection Process contact the Department of Education and Training's GAT department on 9264 5513.
Students who are selected are placed in programs through an extensive selection process.
Students can apply from Year 8 to Year 12. A maximum of 18 boys and 18 girls participate in the program in each year group.
Applications for the program are directly to the college in Terms 1 and 2 of Year 7, with trials in June.
Entry is through selection trials, interviews and school reports. The course cost includes match fees, equipment and some travel. The purchase of a course tracksuit is also required.
