ROOTS & SHOOTS PRESENTS: Jane the Documentary

Roots and Shoots Club Movie Night:
Jane the Documentary
John Curtin College of the Arts Roots and Shoots club has obtained permission to show the 2017 National Geographic biographical documentary Jane on Tuesday the 16th of October.
Drawing from over 100 hours of never-before-seen footage that has been tucked away in the National Geographic archives for over 50 years, award-winning director Brett Morgen tells the story of JANE, a woman whose chimpanzee research challenged the male-dominated scientific consensus of her time and revolutionized our understanding of the natural world. It tells the story of Jane’s early explorations and research in Tanzania, focusing on her ground breaking field work, her relationship with her cameraman and husband Hugo van Lawick, and the chimpanzees that were the subject of her study.
So come join us at Curtin Theater from 5.30pm for fundraising cake stalls and merchandise in aid of the Western Ground Parrot and Western Swamp Tortoise.
Movie starts 6.15pm.  This is a free event.
