Two more dancers heading to Melbourne

John Curtin College of the Arts is extremely proud to announce that two current members of our Dance and Ballet programs have been accepted into the prestigious Australian Ballet School full-time program in Melbourne.

Felice Davies (ballet) and Zane Taylor-Smith (dance) auditioned recently and this week were accepted into the ABS program.

Felice and Zane follow in the dance steps of Tina Xu whom last year also accepted a position at the Australian Ballet School. That is three highly talented students from JCCA in less than two years.

John Curtin College of the Arts has in the past had a number of previous students enter the professional realm. Most recently former JCCA student and part time ballet tutor Miss Kirsty Shay was offered a Young Artist position with the West Australian Ballet Company and is performing in the WAB upcoming season of ‘Giselle’.

“We are very proud of all our past and present students that pass through our studios here at John Curtin,” explains Director of Ballet Diedre Atkinson. “There are limited places both here in Australia and around the world for dancers and artists leaving institutions, so to have another two of our dance students accepted into one of the countries leading training facilities is truly fantastic. We wish Felice and Zane all the very best for their future careers.”
