John Curtin College of the Arts Community Astronomy Night 2021

The night sky has been a source of wonder that has inspired humans for centuries in myriad ways. It has inspired us culturally, spiritually and scientifically, and we each connect to it in different ways.

In partnership with the Gravity Discovery Centre and Observatory, John Curtin College of the Arts is hosting a FREE Community Astronomy night for its school community (i.e. students and their families). If you are interested in the night sky and how we connect to it, come and explore all things astronomical with us! Whether it is gaining first-hand information from WA’s leading astronomers in both Western and Indigenous Astronomy, telescopes, celestially influenced dances and music performances, touring through the universe in time and space, there are even lots of hands-on activities to explore.

Date: Tuesday 9 March 2021 6 to 8.45pm

Activities in and around Curtin Theatre start at 6pm with a with a formal welcome and dance performance in the Curtin Theatre at 7pm followed by an astronomical lecture and star gazing.

Pack your picnic baskets and join us on the Curtin Theatre lawn.
