Our Gifted and Talented Media Arts Program provides your child with the skills and knowledge to perform a broad range of functions in media journalism, radio, film and television production.
The program also provides experiences in a range of specialisations including visual and audio editing, audio recording and manipulation, filming and digital photography, production roles, crew roles, script writing, directing, radio and print media. Students have the opportunity to showcase their work at least twice per year in Film Festivals and participate in extension activities including industry simulations, exhibitions, competitions and filming live events and productions.
Media arts students participate in the ATAR Media Production and Analysis course in upper school, which prepares them for university entrance, TAFE entry, and/or industry employment. Students can also achieve specific industry qualifications including the nationally accredited CUA20220 Certificate II in Creative Industries: Media through John Curtin College of the Arts (50549). Further details on the ATAR Media Production and Analysis course and the CUA20220 Certificate II in Creative Industries: Media can be found in the Year 11 and Year 12 Curriculum Handbooks here.
