When and where is the Open Day at John Curtin College of the Arts?

The Open Day will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Curtin Theatre Lawn within the John Curtin College of the Arts. The event will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:40 PM. This is a free event open to anyone interested in joining the College.

Where should I go first when I arrive at Open Day?

Upon arrival, proceed to the College theatre lawns. There, you’ll find marquee tents where you can register and receive your Journey Map.

What are ‘Journey Maps’

By offering 17 unique Journey Maps, we’ve designed a personalised exploration experience for our attendees. These curated paths guide visitors through the College’s diverse offerings while ensuring a smooth and enjoyable visit for everyone.

What to expect from Open Day

This is  your chance to explore the campus, meet teachers and students, and experience the creative energy of JCCA. There will also be a special celebration of the Curtin Theatre’s 20th anniversary. Whether you’re interested in drama, music, visual arts, or media arts, JCCA can help you find your creative path and imagine your future. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity!

Will there be food available during the Open Day event?

Yes, we’ll be hosting a gold coin donation sausage sizzle run by our students. You can also purchase snacks and coffee from our Canteen.

Yes, the Open Day is a family-friendly event. Children are welcome to attend and explore the College campus along with their parents or guardians. There will be plenty of opportunities for everyone to experience the vibrant atmosphere and learn more about the College’s offerings.

While there is some limited parking available on campus, we strongly encourage attendees to consider alternative transportation options such as public transport, carpooling, or parking in nearby Fremantle parking lots. This will help alleviate traffic congestion and ensure a smoother experience for everyone.

Is the Open Day accessible to people with disabilities?

Yes, the Open Day is designed to be accessible to all attendees. The College campus features easy-to-access locations, bathrooms, and facilities. All activities will be held on the ground floor to ensure convenience for everyone.

What happens if it rains on Open Day?

The event will go ahead rain or shine! In case of rain, we have covered areas and marquees where activities will still take place.
