Our Science teachers create an environment where students are encouraged to inquire deeply, think critically, and challenge themselves to improve both their understanding of science and their ability to apply it in meaningful ways. Through hands-on experiences, collaborative learning, and creative problem-solving, we empower students to develop their scientific skills, communicate their ideas confidently, and pursue solutions that make a positive impact. Our inclusive and culturally responsive approach ensures that every student’s unique abilities are nurtured, preparing them to contribute thoughtfully and innovatively to our evolving world. Science at the College also provides students with the opportunity to gain a level of understanding sufficient to pursue tertiary studies in any major scientific discipline.

Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 are placed in generalist classes (with those selected for EEE and Challenge programs following different streams) where they are offered a combined course designed to give them an overview of the major scientific disciplines and a solid foundation in scientific problem-solving methods and scientific communication. In Year 10 students are further streamed into pathways. Pathway 1, Challenge and EEE students follow ATAR preparation programs whilst Pathway 2 engage in science directed at real life applications.

Year 11 and 12 ATAR courses on offer include Biology, Chemistry, Human Biology and Physics, and Human Biology is also offered as a general course.
