College Library

The Learning Centre has thousands of books to entertain, inform and inspire. Students do not need a library card to borrow up to 10 books for three weeks. Other resources such as magazines and equipment have different loan periods. Books can be renewed for a further three weeks.

Our catalogue recently expanded to include ebooks and audiobooks with their own digital loan system.

There are a large range of student textbooks that are not for loan, these however can be scanned, photographed or photocopied. Resources can be found by searching the library database SmartSuite”

There is a dedicated Reading Room for quiet reading and Year 11 and 12 students can use the Senior Study Room for quiet study.

Learning Centre Services

Our Learning Centre includes the College library, IT Department and the Professional Learning Centre. PROPEL is also located within the Learning Centre building.

Students are encouraged to utilise the Learning Centre before school and at lunch to meet up with friends, read or research, do homework, use a computer, print or ask for help with IT issues.

Professional Learning Academy

The Learning Centre has a room specifically purposed for professional learning, seminars and meetings. Student extracurricular groups use this space during conferences with external experts or during competitions such as the cybersecurity focused WA-CTF.

Outside of school hours the Learning Centre is open:

Monday – Wednesday 8.00 am to 8.30 am

Thursday 8.15 am – 8.45 am

Friday 8.15am – 8.33 am

Open all lunchtimes.

Recess – only open for IT and SmartRider enquiries.

PROPEL

Our dedicated learning support team operates out of an office in the learning centre. Our upcoming development will allow them to reposition closer to student services, affording them more space to accommodate students who need individualised learning assistance.
