John Curtin College of the Arts is a leader in public school education. As one of the State’s first Independent Public Schools we have set the standard for academic excellence across all areas of study.
Our college has an outstanding record of academic achievement. We consistently place within the top five of all public schools in Western Australia. More than half of our Year 9 students’ national testing results for writing are in the top 20% of Australia. All mathematics, science and society and environment testing results far exceed all national and State benchmarks.
Research shows that participation in the Arts enhances students’ academic outcomes. Immersion in their area of interest and ability contributes to their academic learning. This enables them to achieve to their full academic potential and have a range of career choices on completing their secondary schooling. Our graduates go on to university studies in courses such as law, engineering, medicine and science as well as the Arts.
